Lana Turners Purse and Shelly Winters Swimming Medal

The Lana Turner Purse That Got Away.

Just happened to watch a documentary on Lana Turner. It was on TCM. Reminded me of the time my wife Lisa and I were in Palm Springs checking out a consignment shop. In it we found Lana Turner memorabilia. Lisa and I were only married a month or two before. One thing we looked at was a purse with the “LT” initials on it. Inside were a pack of cigarettes, a nickel for a phone call and I think a make-up compact. We were told that Lana Turner’s daughter put the items up for sale. Lisa loved that purse, but we didn’t buy it. While flying home I said to Lisa, you know what your initials are “LT.” We should have bought it. Lisa says, “You know I have been married so many times I forgot what my initials were.”

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a column called “The Vent.” Lisa reads it everyday. It is a place where people air their thoughts, gripes, etc; She saw one the other day that said, “Looks like David Blaine didn’t break Shelly Winters underwater record.”
Remember Winters played Mrs. Rosen in the original “Poseidon Adventure.”

By the way, do you think that when “Poseidon” plays in Australia the ship will be right side up?
