My Date With Drew

"My Date With Drew"

Brian Herzlinger in one of thousands of struggling young people in Hollywood trying to find that big break in the entertainment business. His appearance on a game show pilot nets him a prize of $1,100.00. Now he is going to try and achieve his goal of getting a date with the woman he has had a crush on since he was a child. The woman Drew Barrymore. He documented his effort on video and thus was born, "My Date With Drew."
If this crudely shot and edited documentary accomplishes anything it will let every would be film maker out there know about Circuit City's return policy. That policy is anything you buy there can be returned within thirty days. Whether that is good news or bad news for Circuit City remains to be seen.
So with a camera rented on his friends credit cards and his eleven hundred bucks from the game show Brian was on his way. The film can at times be hard to watch with its jerky camera moves and grainy look. After all it is blown up from video to 35MM. Overall it is an interesting story how he goes about getting to the actress. He uses the Six Degrees of Separation as a thread. Does he get her? Do I want to give away the end? No but let me say if he doesn't meet her "My Date With Drew" would kind of go nowhere.
I would like to know as would many other wannabe film makers, actors, directors etc: is how did Brian Herzlinger get this thing released as a wide release picture.
