"Miss Hawaiian Tropic 2007"

Once again we made the trip to Hawaii to Judge the “Miss Hawaiian Tropic” contest. This annual event has pretty much become a part of my life and a good one I might add. My thanks to H.T. owner Ron Rice for inviting Lisa and I. Also special thanks to the Hawaiian Tropic staff for making it such a fun event. As always it was held at the beautiful “Turtle Bay Resort” in Oahu. Now for your viewing pleasure here are some photos.

"Tush" Anniversary

It was 26 years ago today, December 7, 1980 that Turner Broadcasting launched its first real original production called “Tush.” Seems that is also my last name. I don’t like to use the word starred, rather I would like to say hosted an ensemble cast of talented people. Ted Turner’s original idea was to do a variety show we ended up doing a one-hour sketch comedy program.

It launched the careers of Jan Hooks (Saturday Night Live, Designing Women and more). The husband and wife team of Bonnie & Terry Turner who went on to create among other things “Third Rock From The Sun,” “That Seventies Show,” and several films like “The Brady Bunch Movie.”

We did 22 episodes and according to the website, “Jumped the Shark.” We never did. Thank God we didn’t do more than 22.

There are some great memories from that one wonderful year and I don’t think I’ll ever see a time like that again.

I do have copies of all of the episodes and if we ever figure out a way to make them available to some loyal fans that still write me about “Tush” they’ll be out there.
